Weißer reis

Für 20 Portionen benötigen Sie:

  • 1,3 kg Reis
  • 6 Knoblauchzehen
  • 9 Tassen Wasser
  • 9 Esslöffel Öl
  • 3 Esslöffel Salz

Öl in einem flachen Topf erhitzen und den Knoblauch anbraten. Den Topf vom Herd nehmen und den Knoblauch aus dem Öl nehmen. Wasser zugießen und das Salz einstreuen. Den gewaschenen Reis hinzufügen und offen bei starker Hitze zum Kochen bringen und 2-3 Min. sprudelnd kochen lassen. Auf mittlere Hitze zurückschalten und den Reis weitere 10 Min. garen, bis sich kraterförmige Löcher an der Oberfläche bilden. Einen fest schließenden Deckel auflegen und den Reis bei schwacher Hitze in 30 Min. ausquellen lassen.
